Using Herbs and Incense for Trying for Pregnancy

From Fatawa Noor ala Darb Translated by Abbas Abu Yahya

‘As for using something else like herbs for medical treatment, whether it is from Madinah or other than Madinah, if it has been tried and benefitted then there is nothing wrong with this.  If there is a herb from Madinah or any other place and a woman uses it in the same way as incense or grounded into powder and the body is washed with it, or a part of the body or it is drank or used in another way then there is nothing wrong with this, if it has been tried and benefitted.

This is because seeking treatment is permissible rather it is legislated according to the Sharia. There is no problem with this, that a person seeks treatment with that which Allaah has allowed for him.

Or drinking something from that which Allaah has allowed, or a fruit which Allaah has allowed, or something similar to that from what has been tried and benefitted from and it is something permissible. …’
